Glen Cove

Who We Are

In the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic lay organization inspired by Gospel values.

Our goal is to inspire spiritual growth through person-to-person service to our neighbors. Our works of charity include any form of help that alleviates hardship, distress, or deprivation, and that promotes human dignity and personal integrity. Through the face-to-face Home Visit, our volunteers, known as Vincentians, identify short and long term needs and offer assistance, which often includes the payment of utilities, rent, food, and clothing.

Organized locally, Vincentians witness God’s love by embracing all works of charity and justice. The Society collaborates with other people of goodwill in relieving need and addressing its systemic causes, making no distinction in those served because, in them, Vincentians see the face of Christ.

Our Glen Cove conference, which is affiliated with the Church of St. Rocco and St. Patrick Church, is the local presence of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Long Island.
